Liftoff #12!

Hello again, everybody!

So…As of Friday, Revelations, the third book in my Alternate History series Cross & Flag, has been released in ebook and paperback on Amazon Kindle!

To say that this is a major boost would be an understatement, given the past couple months. Although I’ve made decent progress on the fourth book in this series, Reckonings, it’s nothing like what I’d hoped for when I started, meaning I’ll likely have to stretch the project up to the end of September if I want to set down even a portion of the ideas that are in mind, yet agonizingly elusive when it comes to putting them into coherent scenes, dialogue and so forth. This, of course, means setting aside or, at best, drastically reducing the time I spend on other works, which is already limited–all the while going ahead with a project that probably wont be finished this round, as planned at the start.

I’ve clung to the mantra of “flexibility above all” when it comes to writing deadlines, as mentioned many times before, but the disappointment and depression that comes of having to extend or forget about these never lessens, esp. with long-haul projects like this one. So when a draft does cross the finish line, it’s both a great joy in its own right, and a much-needed reminder that, at some point, every story that you work on, to whatever degree, will do the same. There’s still hope of at least getting near the finale for Reckonings by 9/30, and perhaps reaching it if everything aligns just right; in the meantime, I’m content to enjoy the glow of success with Revelations–and make a shameless pitch for anybody reading this to grab a copy at the link above, of course! 😀

See you in (a hopefully cooler) September!
